Position Overview
SIMA is the mandated Fund Manager for a new effort, cocreated and anchored by the International Finance Corporation, which will provide debt finance for decarbonization and sustainability investments by textile, apparel and footwear suppliers. This fund is expected to be operational by Spring 2026 with a target size of $400 million.
SIMA is seeking the services of an Assistant Vice President to support and help lead the fund efforts in Türkiye for pipeline development, loan origination, deal preparation and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the global SIMA team and key stakeholders to source pipeline and develop relationships with target companies focused on decarbonization of textiles, apparel and footwear value chain.
- Assess the fundamentals of the target companies, their business models, markets, and macroeconomic environment, and work with target clients to structure and prepare investment applications for consideration.
- Support preparation of SIMA Investment submissions at preconcept and Investment Committee stage, including financial, technical, E&S and other SIMA checklist requirements.
- Support the firm in all follow up deal-related tasks, including on-site due diligence, financial and credit analysis, and additional deal structuring.
- Support portfolio management activities
- Assist in overseeing required financial and impact reporting per deal and in aggregate
- Create necessary templates, pitch books and marketing material as required for deployment along with the global SIMA team
- Provide support on additional regional deals as required
Qualifications & Skills
- 5–10 years of lending experience with a financial institution / asset manager / alternative lender, etc. Knowledge and experience in lending in real sector, knowledge of equipment finance and experience with potential stressed assets is strongly preferred.
- Experience with lending to clients in textile, apparel, and footwear value chain preferred, but not required.
- Experience in deal sourcing, deal appraisal and structuring, corporate banking and emerging market investing
- Experience with financing small scale solar and energy efficiency projects. Exposure to solar leasing, ESCO models, energy savings performance contracting, solar distributed generation off-balance sheet financing
- Multi country lending experience would be a plus.
- Self-starter, able to operate in an independent manner.
- Strong analytical abilities with great written and oral communication skills.
- Good people skills with strong ethics and a love for social impact, sustainability and transparency.
- University level degree in finance, business, or similar. MBA from a leading business school or certifications preferred.
- Engineering skills highly valued
- A good relationship builder with ability to create lasting client partnerships.
- Fluency in Turkish and English both written and spoken firmly required.
